Black and African American Provider Resource Guide (OHSU) On a Tuesday in November of 2018, a small group of African American providers gathered in the Urban League conference room on North Russell Street and introduced an idea to create a space where African American providers could meet weekly, network, and unite to help support each other and their clients by sharing resources and collective voices…At the heart of each meeting was a need for an African American resource guide and unified voices to combat systemic racism within our county, city, state, and social services continuum of care...
What we have produced here is a compilation of providers that the group has identified from the labor of love, care for one another and the work we do. Special thanks and recognition to Darrel White (formerly of the Urban League of Portland), Elissa Black (Central City Concern’s Flip the Script), Donna Harrell and Taylor Steward (Lines for Life), Mariam Ukbazghi (FORA Health, formerly DePaul), and Anthony Jordan and Ebony Sloan-Clarke (Multnomah County Health Department) for their tireless work and belief in the importance of our African American social service network.
